Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter which begins on Ash Wednesday.

Lent is the 40 days before Easter. In the 40 days of Lent, we are called to pray, fast and almsgive and is an opportunity to change their daily lives and become closer to God. Taking this time of prayer and devotion allows us to truly build our relationship with the Lord and grow with Him on this journey.

On Ash Wednesday, typically, we would go to an Ash Wednesday service and get ashes placed on our forehead as a sign of our faith to show the world that we are not only catholic but also proud to love God, every Catholic will get ashes from last year's palms placed on our foreheads as a symbol of hope for the world.

This year, Ash Wednesday is on the 17th February starting the Lenten season.

In chaplaincy, we will be sharing resources to allow a time to pause for prayer and reflection throughout this liturgical season of Lent.

Below are some resources and initiatives you can get involved within this time of Lent.

Here are some great reflections that the Kenelm Youth Trust have put together to aid our prayer and reflection in this time of lent. They make the scripture digestible and how we can apply it to our own lives and truly live out lent in a personal way:
