Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter which begins on Ash Wednesday.
Lent is the 40 days before Easter. In the 40 days of Lent, we are called to pray, fast and almsgive and is an opportunity to change their daily lives and become closer to God. Taking this time of prayer and devotion allows us to truly build our relationship with the Lord and grow with Him on this journey.
On Ash Wednesday, typically, we would go to an Ash Wednesday service and get ashes placed on our forehead as a sign of our faith to show the world that we are not only catholic but also proud to love God, every Catholic will get ashes from last year's palms placed on our foreheads as a symbol of hope for the world.
This year, Ash Wednesday is on the 17th February starting the Lenten season.
